2023-A Major Year for UFO/UAP, Bigfoot, Cryptid Reports And Other Mysterious Activity in Pennsylvania

Some of you will remember the massive UFO and Bigfoot wave that occurred in Pennsylvania during 1973. It had been the most unusual series of events that I investigated during my 64 years of research. It was during that time period that my volunteer research group that included many scientific and research specialists investigated multiple UFO incidents that were not easily explained. The public was also reporting to the police and news media numerous encounters with Bigfoot type creatures as well. Many of those cases were referred to my group by law enforcement agencies, and we were often at the scene of an encounter within minutes to hours after the occurrence.
The information that was surfacing from widespread locations for many months was indeed very unusual. Trails of large, unusual footprints that would just abruptly end when there should have been more tracks, and sightings of UFOs and Bigfoot observed at the same time and location, and at times observed at close range were among the oddities reported.
It was during that time period that similar details continued to surface that suggested that we were dealing with various anomalies that had a physical and non-physical component involved with their appearances. The more witnesses that were interviewed, and the more information that was collected, suggested that some of those encounters may not be of extraterrestrial origin, but for lack of a better term could be interdimensional.
I have been out in the field investigating UFOs and other unusual encounters since 1965. I have never personally observed a UFO or a Bigfoot, or even a ghost. I worked in the electronics field for over forty years, however for many years I was associated with scientists, engineers, technicians, police officers, and former military specialists who volunteered their time to join me in my research to delve into these mysteries. I have been taking phone reports of UFOs and other mysterious events since 1969, and the phone calls and email reports never stop.
It was quite apparent from the time I started researching these cases in 1959, that many UFO sightings, and even encounters with Bigfoot, and other entities reported could be explained. Many were misidentifications of natural or manmade objects. Many UFO/UAP sightings in recent months were observations of Starlink satellites. Over the years some Bigfoot encounters turned out to be misidentifications of large shaggy dogs, bears, or hunters in ghillie outfits.
While I will never forget the many mysteries of 1973, The year 2023, should also be noted as an unusually active year for not only detailed UFO/UAP observations, but also for the close range reports of Bigfoot and other cryptid encounters from across Pennsylvania. The public was also reporting other strange incidents as well.
It seems that at times when there is an upsurge of detailed, close range, low level UFO/UAP activity, there is also a rise of reports of not only close range Bigfoot encounters, but also close observations of other mysterious creatures (cryptids) as well. Also, other anomalous activity is reported during this period from widespread areas. The ongoing reports of small balls of light extremely low to the ground and in some cases appearing within a few feet of witnesses are astounding.
The more I have learned about these various anomalies, the more it seems that some of the unexplained UFO/UAP incidents, low level orbs or balls of light encounters, mysterious creatures, and some other anomalous occurrences could be somehow related and are a part of the same originating source, whatever that may be. These strange encounters have been occurring for years and continue to be reported quite often from across the country and from around the world.
Some very strange activity was reported by the public during 2023. UAP/UFO descriptions ranged from spherical, rectangular, square, triangular, and cigar shapes. Many of the sightings occurred in daylight or were low level observations.
Cryptids, those mysterious creatures such as Bigfoot, that many credible witnesses continue to encounter were reported from various widespread areas throughout the year. There were also black panther sightings (out of place animals) and observations of huge flying creatures (Thunderbirds) also reported. There were even stranger entities reportedly encountered.
During 2023 there was a surge of Mystery Boom reports from many counties across the Keystone state. Residents from many areas reported loud explosive sounds and their homes shaking at times. Some of those reports were covered by the newspaper and TV media in various areas. In some instances, first responders searching for the cause of a boom were unable to locate a source. These type of reports often have manmade or natural explanations. Those cases, however, at times are difficult to track down. Tannerite is a legal brand of binary explosive targets that can be legally purchased and is sold in stores that sell ammo and firearms. It is used for firearms target practice and can at times explain localized such incidents. A sonic boom from a fireball meteor, or even a frost quake in the winter, as well as various other explanations could explain some reports. Some of the cases from past years that were reported over a large areas have not been explained.
While mystery booms are reported on occasion, they are overall not that common. I have never received so many such reports from widespread locations of Pennsylvania as I did during 2023. It was interesting that this was taking place along with the other unusual incidents.
I have not seen any correlation that these mystery booms are directly related to the appearance of a UFO or UAP. Most UFO/UAP incidents have no sound associated with their observations.
While I received many UFO/UAP, cryptid, and other incident cases directly via phone or email reports, other researchers from across the state and elsewhere also received some of these accounts. Many of the Fayette County reports were investigated by researcher Jim Brown. Kevin Paul investigated Greene County reports. Some other reports were received by Eric Altman of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society. It is quite likely that these encounters are more common than the public is aware of. I have learned from my interaction with the public that many witnesses never report what they have seen, or sometimes wait for extended periods of time, sometimes years, before discussing what they experienced.
The following is a synopsis of some of the unusual incidents that were reported during 2023 that are quite interesting. I have no doubt that a surge of unusual incidents took place in Pennsylvania during 2023.
01-10-23-Irwin- 3:45 PM-The witness was walking his dogs at the time when he looked into the sky and observed a white or silver cylindrical object moving steadily not fast across the sky toward the southeast. He took out his phone and began to videotape the object. The object appeared wingless, and no contrail was observed. The object entered a cloud but never came out. No aircraft were indicated as being in the area at that time on Flight Tracker app.

01-10-23-This observer was in a vehicle traveling from East McKeesport and heading toward Route 30 intersection and looked toward Pittsburgh. The two occupants observed a very large object in the evening sky. It looked similar to a frisbee that was a little thicker in the middle with a round dome. The object was covered in a cluster of lights. There were about twenty lights in a cluster and there were about twenty clusters. The lights were all a yellow color. The object looked exceptionally large about ½ a football field in length. The object was moving and looked like it was pulsating. The object moved off in the distance and was lost from sight. The entire sighting was about 15-20 seconds.
Early February 2023-Mount Pleasant Township- This witness was awake at 1:30 AM and just looked out the window. That is when she noticed a smooth, solid bright white ball of light, about the size of a basketball moving steadily about eight feet from the window and about seven to eight feet above the ground. The object was moving between the side of the house and the front porch. It moved steadily past the window. It continued to move past the yard and driveway then began to rise higher into the sky and over the roof of the neighbor’s house and moved away in the distance toward Acme and the mountain. The witness only saw it for probably less than a minute. The object made no sound.
02-05-23-Elk County-I received information that there had been a series of Bigfoot encounters that had taken place in Elk County. I had the opportunity to interview two witnesses who had seen the creature. One resident told me that he had been putting out scrap buckets of food, mainly apples, berries, and corn near the woods for the wildlife to enjoy. On the evening of his encounter, he had heard the sound of heavy feet stomping in the distance. He knew it was not the sound of an elk or deer. A few minutes later, his outside security system indicated movement outside. That’s when he observed an 8 to 9 feet tall creature, covered with black and gray hair. It was so tall the head of the creature was blocked by the window he was looking from. The creature was wide shouldered, had exceptionally long arms, and took long strides as it moved off into the woods.
Two days later, another person was in her vehicle close to where the previous sighting had taken place. It was just before noon, when that person noticed a creature remarkably similar to what the first witness had reported. She also described the creature covered with black and gray hair and it stood at least eight feet tall. She said the beast took extraordinarily long strides and “ran like a flash.” She only saw it for several seconds as it ran down below a nearby house. She looked around but never saw it again. She stated to me that “she was in disbelief” and was shocked by what she saw.
02-09-23-Greene County-(via researcher Kevin Paul)- The witness saw an orange ball of light come out of the trees near her house, grow in size as it moved along, and became the size of a child’s balloon. She watched it move along until it seemed to collide with the side of her barn and at that time it vanished. There was no sound or odor.
02-12-23-Cambria-Bedford county border– It was about 6:45 AM when the witness observed a bright luminous object hovering over a power line. The object was moving back and forth then hovering, then continued to move back and forth. He pointed the object out to his wife and obtained his binoculars. He described the object as a solid elongated object that had a shape similar to a Tic-Tac or Good and Plenty candy.

As the object moved closer to his location the object appeared to have a solid metallic surface. Also, four bright orange elongated lights suddenly came on in the front section of the object. An unusual tail appendage was also observed. No sound was heard until it came closer to his home, which is when a low humming sound was noticed. The object was at a low altitude and was described as the size of a school bus in the sky. It continued to move across the sky and out of sight. The witness stated that the object moved slower than any aircraft.
02-20-23-Border of Westmoreland and Indiana counties, and in the vicinity of the Chestnut Ridge, a witness at about 7:15 AM, observed what appeared to be a small Bigfoot about four feet tall that was covered in gray hair. It was standing behind a building in a very rural area. While watching the creature, the witness began to hear loud whoop-whoop sounds coming from the nearby woods. The smaller creature quickly began to run toward the sounds. Two days later on the same property, the residents reported a horrible smell similar to rotten meat or eggs that lasted for about 30 minutes then dissipated. Soon after their dog became ill and refused to go outside. There has been a history of other Bigfoot incidents in this general area for many years.

02-24-23-Farmington, Fayette County-I received information from Researcher Jim Brown that another quite unusual UFO/UAP incident had taken place in Fayette County. The incident occurred near Farmington at about 2 AM. The witness went outside on his porch when he observed a bright ball of light hovering over some trees in the distance. The object was moving slightly forward and backward. A beam of light emitted from the object down into the trees. The beam was moving around the trees below as though searching for something.
It was seconds later when the beam was directed toward the witness. According to Jim’s report, the man was temporarily blinded by the illumination from the beam. He also felt heat like that from an infrared heat lamp on his face and arms. He soon had his vision back, and the warm effect also had stopped, however the object and beam were gone. Jim stayed in touch with the witness who reported no lasting vision problems nor visible burns or marks on his body.
Late February or Early March of 2023, in Indiana County– in a rural location close to the Conemaugh river. The observation took place just as the sun was coming up and visibility was good. The witness was driving along the road and there was a car in front of him. He noticed a creature that was walking upright and was all black. The body was quite thin, but it had long arms. The creature was about five feet tall. The creature was moving toward the road just as the first car approached that area. At that time, the creature suddenly turned around to move away possibly annoyed by that car. The witness was baffled how that dark creature could be lost from sight in just seconds. He couldn’t understand how something could move that fast. His car quickly approached the area where the creature had been and the witness slowed down to look for it, but it was not seen again.
03-07-23-Bentlyville, Washington County-On the afternoon of March 7th, two men observed a cylindrical object that appeared in the cloudless sky. The object was described as elongated, cylindrical, and appeared white in color. The object had no visible wings, and no sound was heard as it moved slowly in a straight trajectory across the sky. The appearance of wings and the engine noise of aircraft in the area at the time were easily discernible.
04-06-23-Greene County- There was light rain occurring at the time that a seven to eight feet tall creature was observed in the middle of the road. It reportedly took one step and was gone. The creature was broad shouldered and black. The creature was seen by the headlights of the car, however it never looked toward the vehicle.
04-13-23-Mount Pleasant Twp.-The witness was traveling from Mount Pleasant toward the turnpike when she observed an unusual object in the clear sky toward Laurelville. The object was moving much slower than an aircraft. The object was shaped like a cigar, and was described as having a silver, metallic chrome color and it had no apparent wings.
04-18-23-Washington County-The following report was received from researcher Jim Brown. The incident took place as the witness was driving from California, PA to Belle Vernon. It was about 10 AM when the witness saw over the hood of his vehicle, a ball of light, about twenty feet away. The man slowed down his speed, as the object appeared to pace him as he went down a hill. When he slowed down so did the ball of light. As he continued on, the object was moving toward his right and moved off toward the river and was lost from sight. The object was described as white and self-luminous. It looked solid with defined edges and was about twenty to twenty four inches in diameter. The witness was not afraid but was puzzled by what he had observed.
April, 2023-Fayette County- I learned from Eric Altman, Director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, that during April, a team of Bigfoot researchers were again exploring a remote wooded area in Fayette county that they call, “Area X.” Eric told me that they continued to experience odd phenomena including light anomalies, strange animal howls and screams and large unseen animals walking around those who were there just inside the tree line. There has been ongoing strange activity reported in and around that area in recent years. Bigfoot reports, mysterious vocalizations, strange luminous phenomena, small balls of light near the ground and approaching within feet of witnesses have been reported.
April 2023-Luzerne County-It was in late April, that another Bigfoot encounter was reported from Luzerne county. Max Furek received the initial report and conducted an interview, and I later conducted a follow up interview with the witness. This occurred about 5:30 PM as a witness was driving through a cemetery area. The man was moving at a slow speed through the area when he noticed a dark mass near the tree line. As he got closer, he realized that he was actually seeing two creatures that were remarkably close to each other.
The larger creature was black in color, was estimated to be over seven feet tall and had long arms. The second creature was smaller and looked to be about five feet tall. The hair color was described as similar to cinnamon. They turned and looked toward the witness. They seemed curious as they looked in his direction. When they moved off, they walked upright. The arms moved in unison with the leg movements. The witness unfortunately did not have his cell phone with him to take a picture.
Early May 2023-Armstrong County- A witness in Armstrong county reported seeing a luminous object fall straight down from the sky into a tributary of the Allegheny river. The nearby ducks were disturbed by the impact. Also, around this same date, another witness in Mount Pleasant Township observed around 1 AM. two bright white square shaped objects with rounded edges. They were following each other and moving very slowly across the sky in the direction of the mountains near Acme. They were very bright and too low for stars.
05-06-23-Shelocta, Indiana County-During the evening, the witness was driving down a road near a power station, when something dark, about 4-5 feet tall, and stooped, and had a human-like shape but “looked misty” suddenly appeared within twenty feet of the car. It seemed to float or glide across the road and then was just gone.
05-08-23-Latrobe-The witness was driving on Route 30 around 6 or 7 PM. That is when a bright silver wingless cigar shaped object was observed moving toward the southwest across the sky and out of sight.
05-10-23-Norvelt- At about 10:52 PM a white sphere is observed in the sky moving up and down. It also wobbled, would fade out and reappeared. After 20 minutes it shot up about 30-40 feet into the sky and vanished.
05-15-23-Beaver County- During the evening of May 15, 2023, a witness in Beaver county told me she observed a huge luminous triangular shaped object with a round light in each corner that was hovering over the trees. She stated that the entire object was illuminated in a white color. A smaller object separated from the top and bottom of the object while under observation.
05-22-23-Fairchance, Fayette County-The following information is from the report that Jim Brown submitted on this Bigfoot incident. The incident occurred on May 22, 2023, at approximately 11 PM. The weather was partly cloudy at the time, and the temperature in the 50s. Jim was contacted by a property owner who lives near Fairchance, PA. He was getting ready to go to bed when he heard the sound of his cattle carrying on as though something was stirring them up. His first thought was that there was a coyote close by. The man grabbed his rifle and headed outside to see what was happening.
As he looked toward the animals, there was no coyote in sight. What he saw instead, was what he described as “a hairy man about eight feet tall in the muddy area.” The creature was in the mud approaching the cows. The man yelled aloud at the creature, which responded by starting to run away from that location. The witness then fired one shot over its head. The witness told Jim that he did not try to hit it, he just wanted to scare it off.
The man also told Jim, “I’m not sure where the creature went, it was just gone.” All of the cattle were accounted for. It was quite dark in the area where the creature was standing. The witness said that the creature was covered with long, dark colored hair, and that it had exceptionally long arms that extended low on both sides to at least the knees. When the man yelled at the creature, it raised its left arm above its head. That was also the arm between him and the creature. The man also shined his flashlight beam on the creature that was about one hundred feet away from him. The eyes shined red only when he aimed his flashlight at them. There were no unusual sounds or odors. The cattle seemed to settle down once the creature left the area.
Jim searched the property the next day. He searched the muddy area where the cattle and creature had been standing. The cattle had made numerous deep tracks in the mud. If there had been any tracks from the creature, the cattle destroyed them. No unusual tracks or damage were noticed in the area. The man also indicated that on the two previous nights, the cattle were also reacting to something in the area, but it was not as extreme as on the night of the encounter. The witness seemed concerned that the creature might be still around, so some cameras will likely be set up in the area to try to obtain pictures of the creature. June 2023-Cambria and Fayette Counties-Reports during the month of small orbs of light low to the ground. Investigators in Area X in Fayette county saw an orange orb the size of a baseball high in a tree for several seconds.
07-17-23-Derry- This incident occurred in the Chestnut Ridge area at about 4:37 PM. This took place as a thunderstorm was in the area. The witness heard three loud screams coming from the nearby woods. Each scream took place immediately after a thunderclap. This area has had a history of Bigfoot activity.
07-24-23–Latrobe-A person was traveling outside of town not far from a section of the Chestnut Ridge at about 11:30 PM. That is when the witness observed something down over a hill that was quite unusual. The moon was illuminating the area and what was observed was a creature that looked furry and covered with dark hair. It looked to be about eight feet tall. The creature had a dog-like head and a thick tail that hung downward. When the creature was first observed, it was turned away. It then looked toward the direction of the vehicle and the witness could see its snout. This encounter is similar to what have become known as “Dogman” sightings. There have been other similar observations that have reportedly taken place in Pennsylvania and across the country in past years.
07-28-23-Greene County-Researcher Kevin Paul received a report from the Rice’s Landing area that two people saw two balls of light in the air early in the evening that looked beachball sized, approximately twenty feet apart and flying in a diagonal formation. They blinked orange and white. There was no sound, no navigation lights or strobes. A witness estimated their altitude at under two hundred feet off the ground. Both witnesses are familiar with sky lanterns, and these were not the same.
07-29-23-Fayette County-Eric Altman of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society informed me that more activity had taken place at Area X. Some of the investigators had experienced and observed several things including rock throwing, heavy footfalls, and a bright red orb low to the ground. They also reported that a tree was pushed over and there were two sightings of some kind of hominid type creature. One witness saw it first in front of his vehicle headlights but just outside of the illuminated area to see any details. That witness did see a tall figure and could make out a head and eyeshine. Soon after, another witness saw a very tall, very thin, blueish grey figure with little or no hair that crossed the road very quickly from right to left. It appeared to be hunched over. That witness was quite shaken after that experience.
07-29-23-Mount Pleasant- I received a phone call from a witness at 10:13 PM. He sounded very shaken and concerned. He was describing an object in the sky that he was observing at that time. He had just walked outside a few minutes before to put out some garbage. He happened to look up into the southeast sky from his location outside of Mount Pleasant in Westmoreland County.
He observed what he described as a massive triangular shaped object that emitted a bright greenish-orange glow. The object was hovering when he saw it. While talking to me he became overly excited stating that the object had suddenly just vanished then moments later reappeared again, however it had moved forward ahead slightly. There seemed to be an electric hum coming from it. The object did this a second, and then a third time while he watched it. The man attempted to take pictures with his cell phone camera. He could see it in the viewer however the pictures only showed a blur not the object. He could not understand why that happened.
At 10:18 PM, while under observation, the object suddenly with incredible speed, shot off toward the southwest. The object had moved out of sight in seconds. Moments later, the witness observed what he described as three military jets approaching from the direction of Donegal. The jets approached the area then made a sharp turn then headed in the direction of the object. The jets could not catch up with it. The witness heard their jet engines and was certain they were military. The man went back into the house after the incident.
The object description: The witness used the term massive to describe triangular object that looked solid looking with a green-orange glow. The object was estimated to be around three hundred feet in length. At the bottom of the object in the center, was a large round non blinking green light. There was a smaller round white light on each corner that did not blink. There was also on each corner, a smaller triangular shaped object that seemed attached to it and they were each pointing outward. The entire object was surrounded in an orange fog.
07-30-23-Mount Pleasant–The witness from the Mount Pleasant area called back at 12:11 AM and was quite excited again. He had looked out a window and saw a large white light below the clouds. It was not perfectly round but looked like a bright white vertical solid egg in the sky. He went outside to get a better look. He hung up and called me back a few minutes later. He had taken pictures of the object, and one image did show something.

As he continued to watch, the object that seemed quite large moved slowly closer to the treetops. The witness was quite amazed as he watched the object make a turn and suddenly change shape from the egg into a large triangular object. The surface of the object gave the impression that it was constructed of soft black metal. There was a non-blinking white round light on each corner. After hovering for a brief time, the object took off at a high speed across the sky and was quickly lost from view.
08-01-23-Greensburg- A witness a few miles outside of town at about 7:30 PM, watched an aircraft moving east across the sky. The witness could see the wings, tail,and contrail. Another object then appeared and at first the witness thought it was another aircraft. As the witness continued to watch she realized it had no wings, tail, or exhaust. The object was described as looking similar to a fuselage of plane with no wings or like a cigar. The two objects crossed paths. The aircraft continued moving across the sky. The cigar shaped object just vanished.
08-03-23-Latrobe- Large Silent Triangular UFO/UAP Observed Over Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

I received a phone call from a man on August 3, 2023, at 9:57 PM. He wanted to tell me about something he saw at about 2 AM early that morning. He has trouble sleeping so he often takes early morning walks. He was walking several blocks from the downtown section of Latrobe. This area is in the vicinity of the Chestnut Ridge that has a long history of UFO and cryptid encounters.
The witness noticed a series of lights in the sky coming from the Ligonier area and moving west toward Latrobe. He assumed it was an aircraft. As the lights got closer, he observed a large solid dark and shiny triangular object that was approaching close to his location. At the bottom, the object had one white non-blinking round light on each corner, and one larger non-blinking round red light in the center. Along the side were five small white non blinking lights. The witness estimated the length of the object to have been about 100 to 200 feet from point to point.
The object that was moving slowly but steadily and moving slower than an aircraft. At times there appeared to be some skipping or jittering in its movements or even slightly pivoting. There were no markings visible on the object as it passed over. The object passed overhead at about 1500 feet. The object was completely silent. The object continued to move slowly in the direction of Greensburg.
The man aimed his phone camera at the object to take video. He saw the image on his phone screen. When he got home to look at the video, there was no video footage. He has no idea why it didn’t record. The total observation was about 3 minutes. This sighting is similar to the object reported on July 29th in the Mount Pleasant, PA area. Latrobe is about sixteen miles from the Mount Pleasant area.
08-08-23-Irwin/North Huntingdon– An interesting UFO/UAP incident occurred on August 8, 2023, in the Irwin, Pennsylvania area. The sighting occurred at 11:10 AM as the witness was floating on a raft in his swimming pool. The man was facing south when he observed a black object moving low overhead moving from east to west. The object was moving fast across the sky in a perfectly straight line. The witness stated that the wind was about five to seven miles from the west, and the object moved directly into the wind. The observer estimated that the object was moving at a speed of 100 mph or more as he watched it.
The man estimated that the object was exceptionally low in altitude, only about 150 feet off the ground. There was quite a lot of cloud cover at the time, which made it easy to see the shape of the object. At that time of the morning the sun was behind the object.
The object was described as having a flat black color. There were no apparent lights, wings, or propellers observed. The witness stated that the shape of the object was similar to a cross section of a wing of an aircraft. The base was flat. The silent object looked to be only about six feet in length. The sighting lasted about 5-7 seconds as it moved off in the distance behind a tree.

If turned upside down, this object has some similarity to the black object that was photographed on May 14, 2022, near Latrobe, PA over the Chestnut Ridge.
08-08-23-Irwin/North Huntingdon-10:15 PMA -Very bright white light was observed in the northern sky. The object changed colors from white, to green to red. The object would hover, dart fast across the sky, stop, and move up and down. It continued this pattern for about fifteen minutes but was lost from sight behind some trees.
08-13-23-Somerset County-An experienced outdoorsman and night fisherman at about 10:50 PM reported hearing the repeated sounds of huge cracking of trees and huge banging against the trees, as well as what sounded like trees being shredded. He was so concerned he quickly left the area. A strange metallic sound like someone hitting a gong had also been reported from the woods in that area.
08-18-23-Indiana County- This incident occurred at about 9:25 PM. The witness was inside her home when she noticed a bright light from outside shining between the window blind flaps. She looked out the window and observed a very bright white object that was triangle shaped with three rounded corners. The object was stationary, and looked to be about the size of a medical helicopter that passes low over the area. The object seemed to be about fifty feet higher than the nearby trees. Surrounding the object was what the witness described as an odd colored haze, similar to a halo that was purplish brown. The halo while luminous, was not as bright as the body of the triangle shaped object that was completely glowing.
There also appeared to be some lines or separations on the bottom surface of the object. A red light was observed on each back corner of the object that was steady while hovering, however as the object began to move toward the north, the red lights began to blink. The object moved over the house and continued across the sky toward the Shelocta area. The object made no sound. The observation lasted a few minutes. Unfortunately, the witness didn’t have a camera.
08-20-23- New Stanton- A glowing blueish colored cigar shaped object was observed about 9:30 PM moving east to west across the sky. The object appeared to be at about the altitude that small aircraft are commonly observed at in the area. The witness stated that the object was moving faster than any jet could attempt, however not as fast as a meteor. The witness has observed many meteors. He commented that it looked similar to a missile moving through the sky. He estimated that the object itself could have been 10-20 feet long.
08-30-23-Derry Ridge– The witness was walking her dogs at about 12:30 PM on August 30th. This took place in Derry Township in the ridge area. As they were walking along, the larger dog suddenly just stopped in its tracks. It was staring directly into the woods about twenty yards away. The dog began to growl. That dog never growls. The witness sat down on the ground with the larger dog to try to calm the animal down. The dog continued to stare toward the woods and tree line. That is when the witness noticed something large that was standing among the trees as though trying to camouflage itself. The witness could see a tall creature about seven feet tall covered with a mix of black and brown fur. The arms hung down to the side. She could not see the length due to the foliage in front of the creature. The creature stared in their direction. The witness became scared and immediately took the dogs to her house. She left the area quickly and never looked back.
08-31-23-Scottdale-That evening a resident watched a bright round baseball size sphere low and near the top of a neighbors tree. The tree was about eighty feet away and about forty feet high. The object appeared near the back part of the tree and bounced over it, then in seconds moved over the tops of three or four other trees.
09-03-23-Cumberland County– This incident occurred near the Susquehanna River. The sighting took place around 9 PM, when the witness went outside to do a chore and also to walk her dog. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light similar to a starburst. The dog, which is deaf, was in a sitting position and looking up toward the sky. The witness then looked up to see what had attracted the dogs attention. She indicated to me that the light was shining down on her and the dog.
Hovering about three hundred feet over her building was a large, solid black triangular object with rounded corners. There was enough moonlight to illuminate the area near the unusual object. The witness described the surface of the object as having a flat matte black color. She had a clear view of the undercarriage and back section of the object. There were no individual lights on the object. She could only describe the size as massive, and much larger than the medical helicopters that fly over her area on a regular basis.
When I interviewed the witness, she described seeing what looked like two circular protuberances on the back section of the object that she thought were possibly vents. It was in that area she noticed what she surmised was the orange colored metal cooling off from the intense heat. She said this cooling effect did not occur all at once. She also observed what looked like some type of indentations or protrusions on the bottom surface. As the object hovered, she noticed a deep, yet barely audible humming sound, and then a one click type noise as the object began to slowly move. Suddenly the object moved so fast that it looked like a smudge and never saw it move off across the sky. “It just vanished.”
The entire observation happened within seconds. The witness did not contact me until a few weeks after the observation. As she described the experience to me in detail, she still sounded verbally shaken by what had taken place. The location of the sighting was only a few blocks from the Susquehanna river. On the same date that this sighting took place, there were two other UFO/UAP reports in eastern sections of the state in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
09-04-23-Cumberland County -This incident also took place in Cumberland County about four miles from the September 3rd location, however it occurred on the following evening. The location was less than a mile from the Susquehanna River. I conducted a long interview with the primary witness and found him to be very professional and detailed in his testimony. This will be the man I am referring to in the following report.
The witness was driving along a local road with a friend, when at 8:54 PM, he noticed something strange in the sky. He yelled to his friend and hit the brakes, then pulled his vehicle off the road. The two men got out to observe the circular object that initially was not that high in the sky and hovering. The object appeared to be solid looking and white in color. Suddenly the object accelerated with extreme speed straight up into the sky to a higher altitude. Both men were amazed at what they were seeing.
As the object continued to move higher into what the primary witness called the upper atmosphere, that circular object appeared to split into two. According to him, the circular object separated into two “crafts.” The saucer shaped object on the top continued to move upward at high speed, while the one on the bottom immediately looked as though it just disintegrated into a bunch of “sparkly things.” The witness attempted to video tape what was taking place with his phone camera. When he zoomed in, he was of the impression that each sparkly thing had a distinct geometric shape. He called them, “h-shaped crafts.” The original circular object continued to move at an amazingly fast speed, higher up into the sky. The small h-shaped sparkly objects appeared to fade away and were no longer observed. The witness stated that he and his friend watched as the circular object continued to rise even higher, then suddenly performed “a seemingly impossible 45 degree-angle precise turn due east across the horizon.”
Moments later they saw something else that confused them. Approaching from the west and moving east along the path that the circular object was taking, was another object that was moving fast, that they believed could have been a military drone or a small aircraft. What was observed was described as “two fuselages connected by one long wing.” There was a very bright white blinking light at the end of each fuselage. From a distance the sound it made was similar to a lawn mower. The witness stated that he had never seen or heard of an aircraft like that before. Whatever it was, it seemed to be tracking the circular shaped object. (During a follow up interview, the witness now thinks this may have been a military helicopter.)
The primary witness attempted to video tape the UFO/UAP activity. He set his iPhone setting to video mode and began to record from the time the observation began. He saw that the video was recording and counting up the footage on the screen. He also had the flash mode shut off. However, during the video recording the flash still occurred. When he played back to watch the video, he realized that no video was recorded. Only a few still pictures had been captured. The man was glad however that at least he was able to obtain some pictures to document what was observed. The witness could not explain why the video was not recorded.
09-05-23-Penn–The witness was out in his yard at about 6 PM and happened to look up into the sky. There were some scattered clouds in the area. He observed what he described as a white solid cigar shaped object with rounded ends that moved steadily across the sky at a moderate speed. The object had no wings. He turned away for a few seconds and when he looked back the object was gone. He couldn’t understand how it vanished so quickly but thought maybe it had gone into a cloud.
September 22nd or 23rd, 2023-Susquehanna County-A couple of miles from the Pennsylvania-New York border. At about 10 PM, the witness had taken a walk outside and observed two triangular objects flying due west. He described the objects as very large, jumbo jet size and lower in altitude than the aircraft he sees flying over the area. There was a round white light on each corner on the leading edge of each object. There was also a red round light in the center of each object that would periodically flash. There was also a single round white light positioned in the corner behind the red light. The witness indicated that the sides of the objects were not equilateral.
Although the witness could easily make out the lights on the objects with his naked eyes, he quickly obtained binoculars to take a closer look. The second object was trailing the first object by about 15 seconds along the same path. They were moving slowly and were quite visible for 45 seconds to nearly a minute as they moved out of sight. The witness did not notice any sound. The witness did not have a camera phone.
09-25-23-Westmoreland County-Location is near the Youghiogheny River. The owner reported that twenty-three fowl had gone missing. There were no tracks ,blood, or feathers found in the area. Two days earlier, an odd light showed up near their property on their security system camera.
09-26-23(Approximate date)-Somerset County)-At about 2 PM in the noticeably clear sky, the witness noticed a bright flash in the sky. Then suddenly a black cloud appeared that looked somewhat round or egg shaped. The cloud looked unusual and was the only cloud in the sky. It was still there as the witness drove off in the distance.
09-29-23-Somerset County- Two people were outside that evening in this rural area when they heard very loud strange sounds coming from the nearby woods. The one witness was an experienced hunter and told me it sounded like a cross between a barn owl and ostrich. The other witness became frightened and went into the house. The first witness stayed outside to listen to the sounds that seemed to originate from a wooded area about twenty five to thirty feet away. From that area he soon noticed movement then saw what appeared to be one bright white luminous white eye with a black round pupil staring at him. It was about 9-10 feet off the ground. Even with moonlight he could not see any body shape. He believes he was seeing whatever it was, from a side view and only able to see the one eye. It then began to slowly move, and he could hear a rustling sound as it moved through the tall grass.
10-25-23- Fayette County– A very strange incident took place in an apartment at about 4 PM. The witness and a friend were sitting in the living room when about 3-4 feet away and almost close enough to touch, a three inch diameter ball of light suddenly just appeared. The object had a definite rounded shape, with a glow that was a light golden color. The object made no sound and there was no odor detected.
The objects movements were described as “fluttering around” as though it was searching for something. After a brief time, the object suddenly rose up to about four feet higher and hovered. Then suddenly about ten similar objects just appeared, possibly separating from the original object. Those small light spheres fluttered around in about a six foot area. After about one to two minutes the lights seemed to gather together and then vanished. They may have joined back into the original sphere. There was once again only one ball of light. That object moved around slightly in the room, and possibly behind the television. That object suddenly just vanished and was not seen again. The witness I talked with said it was the strangest thing she had ever seen. Her friend had no idea what it was. There are no pets in the house. The witness did not have a camera to take a picture. The entire experience lasted about 2-3 minutes.
October 27, 2023-Westmoreland County- The person involved was walking near a wooded area during the moonlit early morning hours. The witness began to hear a strange loud screeching sound. The sound was similar to that of a crow but much deeper and seemed to be coming from the woods about fifteen to twenty feet away. The sound seemed to fluctuate in distance, as though it was moving back and forth and at times approaching close to the witness then moving off and then returning. The witness pulled out a phone and began to record the sound in video mode. Moments later, and for only seconds, a large four legged creature came out of the wood line. The creature was described as looking similar to a large white polar bear with a long head. It looked to be about six feet tall and solid. It then went back into the woods. It was about that time that a truck and car passed the area and was believed to have scared the creature away. The witness was extremely shaken by what had taken place. The entire incident lasted about 90 seconds.
10-30-23-Derry-Loud screams and crashing sounds in the woods. Then two deer ran from the woods through the yard followed by more crashing sounds as though the deer were being pursued.
11-02-23-Greene County-Heading toward Uniontown on Rt 21 at about 5 AM, an ashen colored, five to six feet tall humanoid looking creature ran across the road in front of the headlights of the vehicle. The entire creature was the same color. As the driver watched the strange creature it passed through the Jersey barrier without slowing down as it ran across the road.
11-08-23-Armstrong County–I received a call at 1:27 PM from a witness in Armstrong County. She said she had just seen the strangest thing. It was about 12:45 PM and was outside with her dog. From her location she can overlook the valley. At first, she saw what looked like dark gray smoke and thought it was someone burning leaves. It then began to move higher into sky. That dark mass would move up and down, left, and right, move into the clouds and then come back out. The she saw four or five balls that were light gray and became darker in color. They moved into the mass and were still moving around and began to change into solid shapes. One looked like a giant bird, then later it took on the shape of a solid cigar shaped object. She thought at first it was a blimp but soon realized that was not what she was seeing. She did not have her phone with her to take pictures at that time.
11-08-23- Norvelt,- At 9:15 PM, a woman was outside walking the dog and looked up into the sky. She observed a white ball of light with what looked like pinkish-blue flickering lights around it. The ball was not that high in the sky. It dropped down lower to just above the trees and was moving up and down and hovering. She watched it for about a minute. The object made no sound. She ran into her house to get her phone camera. She went back outside. The ball was now a little lower in altitude and had moved slightly forward from the position it was in before she left. As she watched a second object separated from the first ball. It shot out from it and hovered next to it. They were both hovering and moving up and down in the sky. The second object would at times fade out for a short time and reappear. To the left of both objects the husband said he saw a much fainter third light. While under observation, the lights suddenly just went out and were gone. One witness said, “Lights like switched off. Just went dark.” There was no sound during the observation. The entire observation lasted about 4-6 minutes.
11-9-23-Somerset County-I received a call at 6:03 PM concerning the sighting of what the witness described as a black panther. The witness was hunting at about 2 PM, in Somerset county. The witness was hunting up on a ridge area. This was a scenic area, and he had a good view. He noticed in the distance that something was moving through a field. That was about sixty-five yards away when he saw a black animal. He thought at first it might be a large dog. As it got closer, and it turned, he got a good look at the animal from its side. The animal was stalking and moved as though it was hunting. It moved like a cat. He was certain that this was a “black panther.”
The witness has been hunting for years and has seen bears, fishers, coyotes, etc. The tail of the animal was very long. It was straight and thick and was at least three to three and a half feet long. The body was somewhat longer. The head was rounder than a dog. The body was muscular with short hair. The animal was moving up into an area where the weeds were six to seven feet tall. He watched it until it moved out of sight. He was concerned that the animal could come around behind him. He had heard stories of these animals in the area over the years but was skeptical. He told me, “I believe it now.” There have been similar sightings reported from across Pennsylvania for many years by hunters and other witnesses. Many of these were daylight and close range reports.
11-13-23-Richland Township, Cambria County,.-At 3:15 AM, the witness received notification on his security camera that was mounted on the rear of garage facing the woods. The man was surprised that morning when he reviewed the video. At first, he thought the deer stopped to look at the eye shine of another deer just ten to twenty feet away. But after watching the video several times and zooming in he noticed it wasn’t another deer eye shine but a strange orb-like object floating around just inside the wood line. The fact the deer stopped in its tracks and looked right at it confirmed it wasn’t a camera generated glare or trick of the eye.
11-16-2023-Point Marion- The following information was received from my research associate Jim Brown. Jim received the initial details from one of the two witnesses on the day of the occurrence. The sighting took place on November 16, 2023, at approximately 2 PM. The weather was mostly clear with the temperature near 60 degrees. The sighting occurred in the Point Marion area in Fayette County. Jim was able to interview both witnesses, and also conducted a follow up interview with them on November 21st. No additional information was obtained and there were no further unusual sightings.
The incident began when the neighbor, “Mary Smith” a pseudonym, was going outside to enjoy the nice weather, and noticed a strange object about fifty feet above the roof of her neighbor’s house. Her first thoughts were that someone may have been doing some roof work and this was a tarp blowing around or that it was some type of kite. She soon realized that the object was quite unusual. When Mary first saw the object, it appeared to be a solid black triangular object. As she continued to watch it began to change its physical shape from a triangle to a square. It was difficult to judge the size since the object was in a constant shape changing motion. She did indicate that it was about 20-30 feet away from any point across the object during either configuration. The object also looked to be about four feet in thickness. The object had no lights, was silent, and no surface features were observed.
Mary was intrigued by what she was seeing, and thought that she should call her neighbor, “Jane” also a pseudonym, to tell her about the object that she was watching over the roof of Jane’s house. She rang the phone, however there was no answer. She did however leave a message. Mary, still fascinated by the unusual object, went back to looking at it. She never thought about taking her phone to try to obtain a picture. She did notice that the object was rising higher into the sky. Mary decided to walk over to Jane’s house to get a better look at the object. That is when she realized that Jane was outside doing some yard work. Jane had no idea about what was happening until Mary pointed the object out to her. When both witnesses observed the object, it was estimated to be about five hundred feet in the sky and moving higher. Jane explained to Jim that when she saw the black object it was changing shapes and that it was hard to give a definitive size as it was changing. “Sometimes it appeared as a square that was drawing itself into a triangular form. One corner of the square would pull itself into the body and at the same time another area along the edge would extend out to become another point.” This activity continued as the object was gaining altitude. Jane, who had been working outside also did not have her phone with her. They watched the object continue to rise higher for about two to three more minutes until it just became a dark spot in the sky and was lost from sight.
11-30-23-Irwin, PA At approximately 7:30 pm the witness and his wife were driving when they crested a hill. That is when they saw a rectangular-shaped object in the sky. It had red lights on both ends and a blue and green light in the middle. The object appeared to be hovering about one hundred feet over the roadway. They came to a stop and watched the object slowly begin to move to the west. It suddenly became a different shape, almost round with a white light at the bottom and red light on top. The object moved slowly to the west and out of sight.
12-09-23-Derry-The witness had left the house and was going to work at 8 AM, when she noticed something walking across a field about fifty yards away. She could only see the head of a tall creature bobbing up and down behind a high fence. The creature which she believed was a Bigfoot, would have been between seven and eight feet tall.
12-10-23-Derry- A dog awakened this person at 5 AM. The witness looked out a window and saw four balls of white light about twenty-five feet across the driveway about twenty to thirty feet off ground or tree level. The objects looked like solid round balls of white light. They were first bouncing up and down, then hovering ,then bounced up and down again and then flew over the woods toward the southeast. They moved in a diamond formation.
12-29-23-Irwin-8:30 AM- A witness driving on Route 993 from Irwin toward Trafford observed a bright flash in sky. He pulled off road and saw two cylindrical dull white wingless objects that appeared to be not they high in altitude and seemed to be close to each other in the sky. He thought it was possible that they had separated and were moving in different directions. One object moved toward the north, while the object he focused on was moving southeast. The object moved extremely slow across the sky. The witness was able to take two pictures of the object.
