October 27, 2012, Waynesburg lecture is still on as scheduled

The lecture scheduled to occur on the evening of October 27, 2012, in Waynesburg is still on at the Greene County Historical Society.

I will be speaking about  “Close Range Mysterious Encounters of the Weird Kind,” and will cover a history of UFO & Bigfoot encounters in the state, and will focus on incidents where people were at a very close range with UFOs and various strange creatures. Gordon will also discuss the recent wave of strange activity that has been taking place in recent months in this area.

The event will begin at 7:00 pm, at the Greene County Historical Society, 918 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370. Admission at the door is $8.00. For more information call 724-627-3204.

Robert L. Bitner, The last Kecksburg fireman involved with the 1965 UFO incident, passes away.

Robert L. Bitner, 85, passed away on October 12, 2012. Robert was the last living Kecksburg fireman who was involved with activities concerning the UFO incident that occurred on December 9, 1965. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Bob many times over the years. He was a sincere and kind individual and I will miss our discussions.

Bob will forever hold his place in the history of the 1965 Kecksburg UFO incident. Maybe now he will learn the truth about what really occurred that day so many years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family.

Mysterious incidents Continue to be reported in Westmoreland County and Statewide

This year has been very active with UFO sightings and strange creature encounters. I have interviewed  witnesses who experienced some truly strange experiences, some of which were life changing. People have reported close range and low level observations of what appeared to be aerial craft of unknown origin. Others have reported encounters with Bigfoot, giant birds, black panthers and a variety of even stranger unknown beasts from across the state including some from around the greater Pittsburgh area.

I have written about the 8 foot tall, leathery winged humanoid reported by various witnesses in Butler County in March of 2011, and possibly more recently. I received information that a witness reportedly observed a similar creature in a rural area of Westmoreland County during this past summer. I hope this man contacts me so I can obtain more details.

I have been hearing other reports in past months from people living along the Chestnut Ridge and other nearby locations concerning possible Bigfoot sightings, strange screaming sounds, and odd smells. I was told that a Bigfoot sighting had occurred around Gray Station in early August. The Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society (PBS) has also been receiving some interesting reports from that same area, which has had a lot of history of such creature encounters.

The PBS learned of a game camera photo taken in late August from that general area that shows what appears to be a back shot of some type of hair covered creature. The PBS is looking into the incident. The PBS also had a report from the Ligonier area of a giant footprint that was discovered in September. More recently I have heard that strange animal screams and the sound of something large and bipedal, has been heard in the woods of Westmoreland County as well.  If you have any information on these type of reports please contact me.

Discovery Canada film crew visits Kecksburg

In September of 2012, a film crew from Exploration Production Inc., a Toronto, Canadian company producing a program for Discovery Canada, visited the Kecksburg area.

The company is filming for a new series called “Alien Mysteries”. The crew interviewed a number of people who were involved with the incident, and Stan. The six episode series will feature a program on the December 9, 1965, Kecksburg UFO incident. The series is expected to start to air in January of 2013.

Glowing Sphere near Harrison City

September 13, 2012- around 8 PM

Harrison City-Westmoreland County, PA

A report was received that several people near Harrison City had observed something unusual in the sky around 8 PM on September 13, 2012.  The observers noticed a bright object in the sky that was orange in color and was flickering. Their first thought was that they were observing a planet.  The object, however, was moving from the east towards the west.

The sky was very clear at the time and they watched as the object approached closer. The object was not that high in the sky and according to one witness I talked with, “the glow of it gave the impression of being spherical.” As they continued to watch the silent glowing sphere, it seemed to become quite large in size. One witness who was familiar with the Planet Venus said it looked similar to this object, however, the glowing sphere seemed to grow in size much larger than what Venus appears like on a clear night. The object was a deep orange color.

About two minutes after the object had grown in size, it suddenly began to shrink and became physically  smaller. The witnesses also observed what looked like six to seven lights towards the top of the object that were flashing quickly. The object suddenly made a 90 degree turn and began to move towards the east. They continued to watch as the object moved out of sight and seemed to wobble a little.  The sphere seemed to move off so far into the sky that it faded out and could no longer be seen. The entire observation was estimated to have been over 5 minutes.
